Funding Art in the Schools & Libraries

Schools in the Governor Wentworth Regional School District can apply for grants to fund arts-related programs and enrichment opportunities such as trips to museums, concerts or performances, artist-in-residence programs, or school assemblies.

Using money generated by its annual PAINT Wolfeboro and TABLESCAPES events, the Governor Wentworth Arts Council makes available funds to support student arts in the district. Every October, school officials receive a letter notifying them of the amount of grant money reserved for their school, along with an application form.

The program also awards $150 grants to each of the five town libraries in the school district’s serving area. Grant money to libraries can be used for arts programming or for art-related books, media, and more.

Nearly $65,000 has been granted since the two programs began in the 1980s.
