Art in the Library

The Governor Wentworth Arts Council sponsors monthly art exhibits at the Wolfeboro Public Library to showcase the artwork and crafts of local artists.

2016 Art in the Wolfeboro Public Library

January – Katelyn Mitchell, Graphite drawings

February – Emily Marsh, Acrylic, oils, and prints of digital paintings

March – Youth Art Month

April & May – GWAC artists group (set up by Polly Cain)

June – Elizabeth Helfer, Mixed Media and Soft Sculpture

July & August – Betty Flournoy Brown, Oil

The exhibitor may choose to show along with another person or with a group; the shows are not juried. Depending on the size of the artwork, up to about 40 pieces can be hung on the walls, but the size of the show is up to the artist. There is also a glass case that can be used for small three-dimensional pieces. Equipment for hanging the shows is supplied by GWAC and is available at the library. GWAC also works with the artists to provide press releases for the local newspapers and publicizes the shows via its newsletter and emails to members.

Each November, all Governor Wentworth Arts Council members have the opportunity to participate in a group art show at the library, with the public invited to an opening reception. Details about the show and the application process are sent to members each October.

Please contact Suzette Winchester at 603-569-3372 or if you have questions or would like to schedule a show.
