Artists are encouraged to register for PAINT Wolfeboro, an exciting plein air painting event in Wolfeboro on Wednesday, August 14 (rain date Aug. 15). The event provides artists with the opportunity to enjoy a day of painting in this scenic town on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. They can set up downtown, along the lakeshore, or on one of Wolfeboro’s scenic walking trails. Those who register by July 25 will be included in all event publicity.
Artist registration begins from 8 – 9am with painting underway until 3pm. Participants then make their way to the bandstand in Cate Park for the sale. Visitors can watch works of art being created and can purchase pieces either during the day or from 2:30 to 4:00pm. in Cate Park.
Painters pay a $15 Advanced registration (or $20 the Day of event) fee and receive a T-shirt (if you are a first-time participant), coffee and pastries in the morning, and water throughout the day. In addition, runners will be available to provide work-site coverage for artist breaks.
Artists will set the sales prices for their artwork, and all work will be sold via a direct sale in Cate Park. Artists will keep 60% of the sale price and Governor Wentworth Arts Council will receive 40%. GWAC uses its share of the proceeds to fund arts programming in the Arts Education grant.
Artists may bring up to two additional local paintings to offer for sale during the day in Cate Park.
